Advancing Interprofessional Education Among Future Healthcare Professionals, December 27, 2025


During the weekend of December 27, a theoretical class within the course Interprofessional Education was held at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. During the session, the WhoLeIPE project was presented, and students were introduced to the importance of interprofessional education, emphasizing its value both for their future professional practice and for improving patient care. The lecture was attended by students of pharmacy, dentistry, and medicine.

First Raising Awareness Session

On 4 June 2026, the first Raising Awareness Session was successfully held at Hotel M. The session brought together students of dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy, providing them with an opportunity to work collaboratively and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of teamwork and interprofessional collaboration in healthcare.

Through interactive activities and discussions, participants explored the roles and responsibilities of different healthcare professions and developed essential communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills necessary for effective patient-centered care.

The workshop was led by Professor Marina Odalović, whose expertise and guidance contributed significantly to fostering mutual understanding and promoting the principles of interprofessional education and collaborative practice among future healthcare professionals.

Presentation of the WhoLeIPE Project During the Summer School

From 8 to 12 June 2026, a Summer School was held at the University of Belgrade Rectorate, bringing together undergraduate and PhD students from Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Croatia, and Serbia. The program was led by Professor Marina Odalović, and provided participants with valuable insights into different types of review articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, as well as an introduction to the field of pharmacoeconomics.

As part of the Summer School activities, a dedicated session was organized to present the WhoLeIPE project. Participants had the opportunity to become acquainted with the project’s objectives, its role in promoting interprofessional education and collaborative practice, and the importance of strengthening cooperation among future healthcare professionals.
